SommSay / Wine Reviews

A bottle worth opening.

The useful questions: what does it taste like, what would you eat with it, and is it worth the asking price? Find wine notes that make room for different tastes and budgets.

Start with what you enjoy

Tell us about a bottle you liked, even if the only tasting note you have is “I wanted another glass.” Preferences are useful information. The vocabulary can come later.

What a useful review should tell you

Look for the producer, wine, region and vintage, along with the price and where it was checked. Serving conditions and the time a bottle has been open can matter. A review should explain the experience, not just give it a score.

Worth it for whom?

A bottle for a large dinner and a bottle for a curious tasting have different jobs. We want recommendations to name the occasion and the trade-off. Expensive is not a tasting note.
