Information collected when you visit
Our hosting provider, Verpex, processes technical information needed to deliver and protect the website. This can include your IP address, requested pages, browser information, timestamps and error logs. We use this information to operate the site, investigate problems and prevent abuse.
When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address, your message and any information or attachments you choose to send. We use Google Gmail to receive, store and respond to correspondence. We use these details to answer questions, handle corrections and manage relevant business enquiries. Please do not send sensitive personal information that is unnecessary for your request.
Cookies and site access
WordPress uses cookies for administrative sign-in, security and editor preferences. These are used when accessing the login or administration area. You can manage cookies through your browser settings; blocking them may prevent sign-in from working.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 only after you select Accept analytics. It helps us understand page visits, general engagement, clicks on affiliate links and clicks on our email contact link. Google processes technical information such as browser and device details and uses analytics cookies to distinguish visits. An IP address is used by Google during collection to derive approximate location; Google states that GA4 does not log or store individual IP addresses.
We do not send email addresses, enquiry text, complete affiliate URLs or URL query strings through our configured events. Advertising signals and ad personalization are disabled in our site tag. An email-link click records interest in contacting us, not that a message was sent or received.
You can accept or reject analytics in the cookie notice and change your choice through Privacy settings at the bottom of the site. Rejecting analytics does not prevent access to content. We store your choice in this browser for up to six months. Analytics cookies are configured to last up to six months. Withdrawing consent stops further measurement and removes the analytics cookies we set; it does not automatically erase information previously processed by Google.

Links to other websites and affiliate links
Our articles may link to retailers and other websites. When you follow a link, the destination’s privacy policy applies. If a link earns SommSay a commission, we will disclose that relationship near the recommendation. Retailers and affiliate networks may use cookies or other identifiers to attribute a purchase after you follow an affiliate link. Purchases and payment details are handled by the retailer, not SommSay.
Who receives information
Service providers such as our hosting and email providers process information to provide their services. We may also disclose information when required by law, to respond to lawful requests or to protect the site and the rights of others. We do not sell your contact details or add you to a mailing list because you sent an enquiry.
How long information is kept
We keep correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain relevant business records or meet legal obligations. Technical logs and backup copies follow the retention settings of the services that store them. Information removed from active systems may remain in backups until those backups expire.
Your choices and requests
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction or request deletion by emailing the address above. Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have additional rights to access or receive a copy of information, restrict or object to its use, or complain to a privacy regulator. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Some records may need to be retained for legal or security reasons.
International processing and security
SommSay operates in the United States. Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, but no website or email service can guarantee complete security.
Children
SommSay is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
